  New Light on the 144,000?

  someone on facebook is claiming to have reliable information that the gb is about to announce new light on the 144,000 -- that it's symbolic, not literal.. one person suggested that they will retain the two-class teaching and just change the meaning of 144,000. his idea was that the change would avoid three problems with the current teaching:.

  1. embarrassment over more and more partakers at the memorial when the number should be getting less and less.. 2. embarrassment over 12 symbolic 12,000s somehow equaling a literal 144,000.. 3. solving the problem of running out of "anointed" ones who are old enough to be on the gb.. thoughts?.

  remind me how long a creative day is now ? when i was in it was 7000 years. ( one of the reasons i stopped believing )

  for some reason former jw friends came to mind and i thought of their car how it was a mess of clothes, squashed food and other grunge.

  they had adult kids who could have cleaned it once a while.. others had vehicles that never saw a spanner and another which rode the highways on bald tyres.. hmm a bit too spiritually minded perhaps?.

  is auto neglect common out there?.

  i once sold a mini to an elder--a cheap runabout. some time later he was prosecuted for using it with 3 bald tyres. he still kept his elder badge though.

  i do bible study and attend meetings.

  ”well i was away and i was going to attend in that city”.

  i did everything right, i told my bible study conductors in advance and genuinely i wanted to see another hall.

  ive missed every meeting for the last 39 years. however--i could still be a bible student if i felt the need.

  its simple--and you dont need the watchtower society to show you how to do it.

  all you do is--pick up a bible--and look at it. thats called studying the bible. you may even get the urge to open it and start reading it--thats what i did. i got as far as the talking snake---and then tossed it.

  Why doesn't the Watchtower Society never study the Bible cover to cover?

  in the 40 years as a jehovah's witness, i never read the bible cover to cover.

  the three meetings a week were broken up with book studies, awake and watchtower magazines,and ministry& field service meetings, all written by the watchtower society.

  never did we read any chapters from genesis to revelation and discuss the true meaning of what we just read.
